SHAWN HOHNSTREITER - PRESIDENT/OWNER



As the owner of Hohnstreiter LLC, Shawn manages multiple residential and commercial construction projects each year. He develops project plans, researches new and innovative building materials, and implements efficient methods and solutions for quality craftsmanship. Since 2004, he has completed many small to large-scale projects around the Austin area including:



• Whole-house remodels and additions

• New construction

• Kitchen and bath remodels

• Deck and garage installations

 

​Shawn's building background began at an early age in Indiana remodeling his family's homes and as Yard Foreman for a lumber yard and building supply company. His entrepreneurial spirit began later as a financial planner, honing the skills to make strategic financial decisions that have proven valuable in managing complex construction budgets.

When he moved to Austin he began working as a Senior Project Manager for Austin Habitat for Humanity where he managed every phase of home-building from ground breaking to completion. Soon after leaving Habitat, Shawn started his own construction company. For 18 months, projects were focused primarily in New Orleans to help the rebuilding process following Hurricane Katrina, as well as volunteering at Fairhaven Children's Home. 



Shawn has volunteered with Rodeo Austin annually for over two decades. He is also Co-Founder, Board Chairman, and Field Operations Director of TEXSAR, Texas Search and Rescue, a volunteer emergency response team.
